Add a Portworx Backup License in an Air-Gapped Environment

You can add a Portworx Backup license in an air-gapped enviornment. Portworx Backup supports both fixed node count-based and node usage-based licensing for the nodes in an air-gapped environment.

note

For node usage-based licensing in an air-gapped environment, Portworx Backup provides an Airgapped Metering license option. This option enables you to download a billing report that includes node usage details and share it with the Portworx Support or CSM team for billing purposes.

For more information on licensing mechanism in Portworx Backup, see Licensing Mechanism In Portworx Backup

Prerequisites

Ensure that the setup meets the following requirements before you add a Portworx Backup License to the nodes in an air-gapped environment:

  • Install Portworx Backup in an air-gapped environment.
  • Obtain the license file for a fixed node count-based license or the subscription key for a node usage-based license.
  • (Optional) Add label to the nodes to exclude them from the license node count. For more information, see Exclude Nodes from License Node Count.
