Activate air-gapped metering license

Portworx Backup allows its users on air-gapped cluster environments to opt for usage-based licenses so that they pay only for the backup nodes that are in use and for the number of node-hours they utilize. Users can activate usage-based licensing by activating air-gapped metering license. Also, for such environments, Portworx Backup user interface provides an option to download a billing report. The users should share the report with the Portworx Support/CSM team for billing purposes.

To activate an air-gapped metering license:

1. From the Portworx Backup home page, click the License icon.

2. In License Entitlements page, click Details.

3. Click Import License and choose AirGapped Metering.

4. Click Import License.

   License type changes to Airgapped Metering in the Portworx Backup user interface after the license is successfully imported.

   note

   Users can also opt for node-based licensing (without node-hour metering) in air-gapped environments.

Download air-gapped metering report

To download the usage report for air-gapped license:

1. In the Portworx Backup home page, click the License icon.

2. In License Entitlements page, click Details.

3. Click Download Billing Report to download the report.
   

4. Share the report with the Portworx Support/CSM team every month for billing calculations.
