Install from IBM Cloud

To install Portworx Backup from IBM Cloud, follow the steps in the Back up and restore apps and data with Portworx Backup section of the IBM documentation.

Create CSI-native backups

To take CSI-native backups on IKS cluster with IBM Cloud Block Storage VPC CSI Driver versions below 5.0.0:

1. In the kdmp-config configmap, add CSI_DRIVER_WITHOUT_SNAPSHOT key and update its value to vpc.block.csi.ibm.io in the application cluster.

2. In the Portworx Backup user interface, navigate to Create Backup window, provide the required values and ensure that you do not select any value for CSI snapshot class field.

3. Click Create to trigger a CSI-native backup without local snapshot.
