Install PDS

This topic includes procedures to install PDS in the PDS platform.

Prerequisite

• Ensure your Kubernetes cluster is connected to the PDS platform and is in a Healthy state. For more information, see this procedure for connecting a cluster.

Standard installation procedure

1. Navigate to the Clusters Overview page.

2. Select the connected cluster on which you wish to install PDS.

3. In the PDS OPERATOR column, click on the +Install button:

   

   Alternatively, click on the vertical ellipsis button in the cluster where you want to install PDS and then select Install PDS from the options.

4. If the PDS installation is successful, you will see the +Install link turned to Healthy state.

Alternative installation procedure

1. After connecting a cluster, go back to the Connect cluster page.

2. In the Install Portworx Agent section, copy the kubectl apply command.

3. The Discover Clusters section is enabled and displays the connected clusters. Each cluster should be listed with relevant details such as name, platform, and the Kubernetes version.

4. (Optional) You can edit the cluster’s default name.

5. Select the Continue with (number of clusters) clusters button.

6. In the Configure Portworx Services section, select the cluster on which you want to install PDS and then click on +Install.

   

7. Once the installation is complete, the +Install button will turn to Healthy state.

8. Verify the successful installation of PDS on the target cluster.
