Access PDS platform

Log in to the PDS Platform

To log in to the PDS platform, you can choose from the following sign-in methods:

  • Social account: On the PDS platform login page, select Sign in with Google or Sign in with GitHub to log in using your social media accounts.

  • OIDC: Enables users to authenticate using an external identity provider, such as Google, Okta, or Auth0. The organization Admin can configure the OIDC provider in Portworx Central and share the necessary credentials (such as Client ID and domain name) with other users. For more information on configuring the OIDC provider as the organization Admin, refer to the Configure OIDC provider section.

    To access PDS using OIDC authentication:

    1. On the PDS login page, select the Sign In with OIDC button.
    2. On the Sign In with OIDC page, enter your OIDC Email provided by the Account Admin.
    3. Select Sign in.
  • New user: If you are a new user, you can easily register an account on the PDS platform's login page and subsequently sign in using the provided credentials. For detailed information on the registration and sign-in process for new users, refer to the Register an Account section.

  • Registered user: If you are a registered user, sign in with your credentials. PDS will redirect you to the Clusters page for further access and navigation.

Requests to the Portworx cloud-based data-service control plane are secured with SSL and utilize the HTTP/2 protocol. Therefore, the browser and network used for web-based access must be compatible with these requirements.

Register an Account

If you are a new user, follow these steps to set up an account on the PDS platform:

  1. On the PDS platform’s login page, select the Create Account option.

  2. In the Create Account page, fill in all the mandatory fields. Do not forget to check the Terms and Conditions checkbox.

  3. Select Get Started.

  4. You will be directed to an account activation page, which will instruct you to check your email for an account verification message sent by Portworx.

  5. In the verification email you receive, select the Start using Portworx button.

    If the Start using Portworx button doesn't work, the email will also contain a URL that you can use to access the sign-in page. Alternatively, in the email, you can click on the resetting URL to directly reset the password and access the sign-in page.

  6. On the Set Your Password page that appears, create a password and confirm it.

  7. Select Sign In.

  8. You will be redirected to the account selection page, where you can choose the account associated with your organization to which you are affiliated.

    After logging into the PDS platform, you can perform operations according to the role assigned to you by the Project Admin or the Account Admin. For more information about user roles and permissions, see RBAC.

Manage your PDS account

To access the Profile page:

  1. Select the dropdown next to your profile name (located at the top right).
  2. Select Profile from the available options.

The Profile page includes your account details such as:

  • Account name
  • Company affiliation
  • Role assigned to the account

Within the Profile page -> Password Management section, you can reset your account password.

Manage Accounts

The Manage Accounts page is a central hub for you to manage their accounts by viewing all available accounts, selecting an account to view its details, and setting a selected account as the default for easier future access.

To access the Manage Accounts page:

  • In the Profile page -> Account Information section, select Manage Account.

    or

  • Select the dropdown next to your profile name (located at the top right), and then select Manage Accounts from the options.

The Manage Accounts page includes the following sections:

  • Selected Account
    • Account name: Displays the name of the currently selected account.
    • Mark as default: Select this label to set the currently selected account as the default account.
  • All Account: Displays a list of all available accounts and your assigned role for the account. For example, Admin indicates that the account has admin privileges.
    • Default: Indicates that the account is currently set as the default account.
