Configure backups

PDS can store backups on the following cloud storage services:

  • AWS S3
  • Azure Blob Storage
  • Any S3 compliant storage provider

Before you can use PDS backup features, you must add and configure your backup services. PDS uses the following components to authenticate, schedule, and identify where to send backups:

  • Backup credentials: Your cloud provider IAM credentials.
  • Backup targets: The locations of your storage providers. You can associate multiple backup targets with a single set of backup credentials.
  • Backup policies: How and when PDS will take a backup, as well as how many consecutive backups PDS will retain on the backup target
