PX-CSI Life Cycle Support Policy
The PX-CSI Life Cycle Support Policy provides you with information to help you plan, deploy, and maintain your PX-CSI software environment. Our goal is to provide transparency into release numbering, release types, field qualification levels, and support policies. This helps you plan effectively to maintain operations on the latest supported versions of our software products.
Release numbering
PX-CSI uses a three-digit version number in the X.Y.Z format:
- Year (
X): The year of the release (for example, 25 for the year 2025). - Major release (
Y): Each major release within a year (for example, 25.1, 25.2, 25.4). - Maintenance release (
Z): Updates to a major release (for example, 25.8.1, 25.8.2).
A release line refers to a major release and all of its maintenance updates. For example, the release line "25.8.n" includes version 25.8 and all related maintenance releases (25.8.0, 25.8.1, through the latest maintenance release).
Release lifespan
Each release line goes through the following phases:
- Active development: The initial major release (
X.Y.0) provides new features, critical bug fixes, and security issue resolutions. - Maintenance: Maintenance releases (
X.Y.Z, whereZ> 0) include important bug fixes, security patches, and limited enhancements. - Extended maintenance: After the maintenance phase, the release line enters extended maintenance. During this period, only critical security vulnerabilities are addressed. After the extended maintenance end date, you must upgrade to a supported release line.
