Topic	Description
Internal KVDB	An internal KVDB is a distributed key-value database embedded within a Portworx CSI cluster to manage cluster metadata, such as configuration settings and state information.
Run flat mode	A Portworx CSI cluster can operate without disruption when the internal KVDB experiences a failure, maintaining access to existing volumes while restricting certain metadata operations, such as creating or deleting volumes, until the KVDB is restored.
CSI Topology	Portworx CSI enables topology-aware provisioning by using Kubernetes node labels to define and manage storage resources based on cluster topology, such as availability zones, regions, or custom domains.
