Sunsetting PDS 123.x

Portworx would like to inform our customers that all versions of PDS 123.x will be officially sunset at 12 PM UTC on March 31, 2025 (5 AM PST on March 31, 2025). This decision is part of our ongoing commitment to provide innovative solutions and improved feature sets to our users.

All active and passive customer accounts have already been migrated by Portworx from PDS version 123.x to the new PDS. If you encounter any issues with your transitioned resources or notice missing items, raise a Portworx support ticket using Pure1 so our team can promptly assist you.

Key dates and implications

  • End of support and sunset date: March 31, 2025 at 12 PM UTC (5 AM PST) marks the last period during which PDS 123.x will be supported. After this date, it will no longer receive updates, patches, or technical support.
  • No new resource creation: We have stopped all new resource or action creation in PDS 123.x. Existing resources will continue to run until the sunset date, but we highly recommend migrating as soon as possible to avoid potential service disruptions.
  • Limited access for existing deployments: You can still access and manage existing deployments in PDS 123.x until the final sunset. However, no new deployments or modifications to existing resources will be permitted.

Introducing the new PDS

Portworx invites all PDS 123.x users to move to our new PDS at cloud.portworx.io. This next-generation platform offers advanced features introduced throughout 2024 and 2025:

  • Enhanced UI/UX for a more intuitive experience.
  • Improved scalability with automated cluster scaling.
  • Extended data protection with robust backup and replication tools.
  • Support for authentication using your identity provider via OIDC.
  • Broad integrations with major Kubernetes platforms.
