Check btrfs kernel module

Ensure btrfs kernel module allow unsupported features.

cat /sys/module/btrfs/parameters/allow_unsupported

IF above output is Y and btrfs will allow unsupported features. Otherwise do the following to allow unsupported features on btrfs kenrel module

Create a file named /etc/modprobe.d/btrfs.conf; then reboot the system to enable this.

cat /etc/modprobe.d/btrfs.conf
options btrfs allow_unupported=1

Disable SuSE firewall

yast firewall  

Install docker module

     zypper install docker

Start docker service  

     sudo systemctl start docker

Enable docker service

     sudo systemctl enable docker

Set up etcd in one of the node 

     docker run -v /data/varlib/etcd -p 4001:4001 -d portworx/etcd:latest

Check your local disks.

In this example, we would be using the following local disks for PX-Enterprise storage


Create PX configuration folder and file

In the following, the etcd host is running on

Check dependencies

Make sure you have kernel-headers, kernel-syms, module-init-tools, kernel-syms installed

    zypper install kernel-devel
    zypper install kernel-syms

Resolve some missing files issue. Due to some header files are in linux-obj folder. Depends on your installed kernel version, on SLES 12 SP1, the updated kernel version could be

Check PX container
